Scott Neilson is an accomplished leader with over 25 years multi-functional experience in all phases of drug development on a worldwide level. In the past 12 years he has led two of the top six Global Central Laboratories, dramatically improving market share, revenues and profitability. He has also held senior operations positions in Clinical Research and has a broad spectrum of functional experience including Finance, Regulatory Affairs, Human Resources and Manufacturing.  His experience spans pharmaceuticals and CROs having worked at MDS Pharma Services, LabCorp, Covance and SmithKline Beecham (now GlaxoSmithKline).

Scott has particular experience and interest in global expansion, organization integration, and improving business performance.  As the Vice President and General Manager of MDS Central Lab and ECG businesses, he led the improvement of those operations realizing 47% growth in revenues while improving the bottom line 12 percentage points over a 3 year period, and improving the company’s competitive standing from number 6 in the world to number 3.  At LabCorp he achieved similar results reaching a revenue CAGR of 50% the last 4 years of his term as Senior Vice President and General Manager, Central Lab Services.

Scott has broad international experience having led operations on 6 continents. He has strong communications and interpersonal skills, a record of high achievement, and is recognized in the industry as a strong leader. In 2005 he was awarded the CEO Leadership Excellence Award by MDS.  In 2006, MDS Central Lab, under his leadership, was identified as “The Business To Watch” by CenterWatch.

Mr. Neilson has a MS in Organizational Development from American University and an MBA from Lehigh University, and is a frequent speaker on leadership at universities in both the US and Europe.
